Guidelines for Sustained Silent Reading
(Based on The Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease)

Everyone reads for 20 minutes everyday

Everyone selects their own reading material

All materials must be chosen before SSR begins.

No changing during SSR.

No reports are required and no records are kept.

Finally, adults are there to set an example of reading.
