"Hal has thrown a wobbly" is New Zealand speak for "Hal has a problem." Apparently, Hal's battery died in the middle of the night, so we only were able to retrieve a few profiles from this new location (if you remember, yesterday, we moved Hal to a new spot). But, the profiles that were obtained contain some valuable information; so people are pleased. We were scheduled to pull Hal out of the water anyway, so we spent the morning retrieving Hal and other instruments from the bottom of the lake. Ian made a long dive and retrieved everything! The battery is now recharged, and all is ready to go. We move to Lake Fryxell tomorrow, so we spent the afternoon packing up all our equipment and personal gear. Packing in big white boxes gives a whole new meaning to packing! We have two of the white boxes filled to the brim, and then some! The boxes will be transported in a sling load below the helicopter. The extra stuff and all of us will fly inside the helicopter. We will be at Lake Fryxell.
