Dear Sixth Grade Students and Parents,
With pleasure, your teachers welcome you to Rye Junior High School and to the sixth grade. We hope that you are having a good summer vacation, and you are resting and preparing for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 26. We are looking forward to an excellent school year with you.
When entering the building on the morning of the first day of school, go directly to your homeroom. (Your homeroom teacher's name is on the enclosed letter from the principal, Mr. Pollet.) During that homeroom time, you will receive your schedule, your locker number, your agenda, and other information that will be helpful to you.

Your teachers know that beginning the sixth grade in a new building is an exciting event for you. We also know that there may be some confusion for you at times. Please do not hesitate to ask us for help whenever you need it. We want you to be successful, and we are ready to assist you as you begin your journey through middle school.
